For sale is an American M1 Helmet with a front seam and fixed bales. 

The helmet has been pained several times with both green and gray showing.  All the paint looks period.  At one time it belonged to the “S4” Officer, who is in charge of logistics for a battalion. 

The bales are still solidly attached.  There is a split by the front seam which is not uncommon on early M1 helmets.  That is the only crack I see.  I have coated the helmet with rust inhibitor to preserve it.  That has made the inside black and given it a somewhat shiny finish.
