Antique tinned copper hinged food or bread box with rounded melon-form segmented body, swing handle and front latch.

The piece has a warm aged copper finish with visible hand-worked surface, old tinning to the interior, natural verdigris and surface patina. A very decorative piece for kitchen, country house, rustic or curio display.

Condition: antique decorative condition with age-related wear throughout. There are dents, knocks, rubbing, tarnish, oxidation, verdigris and surface marks as shown. The hinged lid opens and closes and the latch is present. The hinge is a simplistic pi and hoops of its time and construction. Not precision engineering! The interior shows old tinning and oxidation.
