Rare Victorian cabinet card by Tenyowkwan of Nagasaki, Japan of a named Lance Corporal of the Royal Marine Light Infantry who served on HMS Narcissus. Named "J Bardell"

Records show that HMS Narcissus served extensively in the Nagasaki area while assigned to the China Station between 1895 and 1899. The ship was one of seven Orlando-Class armoured cruisers built for the Royal Navy in the mid 1880s
