Antique 4-volume set of Osmanlı Tarihi (Ottoman History) by Ahmed Rasim. Written in Ottoman Turkish using Arabic script. Published in Istanbul, 1908–1912 (AH 1326–1330) by İkbal Kütüphanesi / Şems Matbaası.
Volumes include illustrated color frontispieces depicting Ottoman sultans, black-and-white portraits and maps throughout. Bears the “Fahri Bilge Kütüphanesi” library stamp with catalog numbers 3072–3073.
Condition:
Heavy wear to leather spines, gold lettering partially legible, pages tanned and aged, bindings intact. Some spine cracking and corner damage. Interior pages generally complete and readable.
A rare and significant primary-source history of the Ottoman Empire produced in the final years of the empire itself.
