This sarong was purchased (by me) in 1973, in the market at Jogjakarta, Java.
It is one of the finer examples of authentic batik artistry and pre-dates the 1970s.
The material is top grade cotton; wonderfully soft.
There are no flaws: no rips/tears/holes.
Truly in fine condition, and I surmise that it was never worn as a sarong. It has been kept safely stored away for decades.
The pattern stops, in places, at the selvage. Please refer to all photos.
Note that the print is nearly identical on both sides ----- the hallmark of a genuine batik.
Dimensions:
42" wide by 88" long.
