The 1962–1963 Series I Ferrari 250 GTO is the original, iconic model (33–36 built), while the 1964 Series II (also called GTO '64) was a refined, lower-profile redesign (only 3 new, 4 converted) focused on aerodynamics, featuring a longer roof, more reclined windshield, and sharper body styling to combat competitors.

Key Differences:

Body Design & Aerodynamics: The Series II (GTO '64) introduced a more modern, slippery body shape designed by Mauro Forghieri and Mike Parkes, incorporating aerodynamic features from the 250 LM, resulting in a flatter nose and more "fastback" look compared to the Series I.

Production Numbers: Series I includes 33–36 units produced in 1962-63. Series II consisted of only 3 newly built cars, plus 4 earlier Series I cars retrofitted with the 1964 body.

Roof and Windscreen: The Series II has a noticeably lower roofline and a more reclined front windshield.

Performance: While the 3.0-litre V12 engine received minor updates, performance differences were slight, but the Series II was designed for better high-speed stability.

Identification: The Series I is often considered the classic GTO look, whereas the Series II is sometimes confused with the 250 LM due to its revised styling.

Both series are incredibly rare, with the Series I generally preferred by collectors for its original, iconic styling, while the Series II is seen as an evolution, with some, like 4675 GT, having been converted to the new body style.
