The American Weekly mail-order sewing patterns were vintage fashion patterns sold directly to readers through a popular Sunday newspaper supplement between 1896 and 1966. While the supplement itself was famous for sensationalist news, its "Women's Sections" featured a dedicated pattern service that ran heavily during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Home dressmakers would clip a coupon from the paper, mail in their payment, and receive the physical pattern in the mail a few weeks late
