Description:
Original UK 1969 first pressing of Octopus / Golden Hair by Syd Barrett released on Harvest.
This copy carries the desirable earliest 1G/1G stamper combination together with KT tax code runout stampings associated with early UK pressings.
The vinyl remains visually especially clean overall with glossy surfaces and only light signs of careful handling/play visible under bright light.
Side 1 “Octopus” plays particularly strongly grading excellent overall with only faint background crackle audible during careful play testing.
The quieter B-side “Golden Hair” has a few very faint hairlines visible and plays VG+ overall with a bit more general background crackle, which is commonly found on this quieter recording and more noticeable on early UK pressings.
Labels remain especially clean overall with only light spindle wear visible on both sides, suggesting relatively careful historical use.
Importantly, this copy still retains the original Harvest company paper sleeve, which is often missing or replaced on surviving copies.
A particularly attractive and increasingly hard-to-find early Syd Barrett Harvest single overall.
Carefully cleaned and fully play tested prior to listing. Vinyl also checked carefully for warping and dishing. This copy remains very flat.
