Description
Scarce and highly collectible original first printing concert poster advertising legendary Cat Stevens at the Sportpaleis Ahoy' in Rotterdam [Holland] on Sunday, 2nd May, 1976, in support of the Numbers album. Recorded at the Le Studio in Morin Heights, Quebec and produced by Cat Stevens himself, the album was released on 30th November, 1975 on Island Records in the U.K. and on the A&M label in the USA and Canada. Subtitled "A Pythagorean Theory Tale," Numbers was a concept album relating to a faraway planet called Polygor, and its people, the Polygons. Though it featured the hit single "Banapple Gas", the album sold far less than any of his last four albums and was considered a critical failure, confusing both fans and critics alike by the concept and the lack of "pop-ready" music. The poster comes from the archive of Dutch promoter Paul Acket.
The poster is HUGE and measures a massive 82.6 x 115.4 cm (approx. 32.5" by 45.4" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, uncoated paper stock. Folded as issued with light wear along the fold lines and a touch of light surface handling wear. Please see all supersized images below for the exact condition of the poster.
