This listing is for a Victorian French filet lace sample , beautifully hand‑darned on fine net and featuring mythical griffin motifs. These small study pieces were originally created as needlework practice or design samples, and surviving examples are quite scarce, especially with such detailed mythical imagery. The net is delicate, as typical for the period, and the darned motifs show the careful handwork of a skilled lace maker. Overall, in very good antique condition for it age, with only the light, expected signs of time found on genuine 19th‑century lace. Photos are part of my description.
