The contents of this release will be identical to the worldwide release, except for SHM-CD format, a factory where CDs pressed, and two bonus cardboard sleeves (1. First DGM-approved spread jacket. The inside is a 2023 design featuring a photo taken by photographer Willie Christie in March 1973. The photo of Jamie Muir, who did not participate in the photo session, is enclosed inside the jacket as a card. / 2. PP-coated French jacket not on the original. A color sticker of the band's name is enclosed inside the jacket. A card with scans of both sides of the label is also enclosed as well).
King Crimson "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" 50th anniversary edition consists of 2 SHM-CD discs and 2 Blu-ray Audio discs. This Japanese edition exclusively features the high-fidelity SHM-CD format, and the CDs are pressed in Japan. Also, it comes with a bonus cardboard sleeve jacket (subject to change) not included with the import version. All printed materials, including the English booklet translation, are produced in Japan. Box packaging. The Blu-ray discs contain audio only, and are pressed in Europe.
This box set has three major features: (1) 2023 Steven Wilson mix (Dolby Atmos, DTS 5.1, stereo) with an overwhelming ambient feel that is clearly different from the 40th anniversary mix / (2) David Singleton's new mix from the "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" recording session tapes in the DGM archives, the first appearance of an elemental mix before it was prepared for the finished disc / (3) Blu-ray II includes the first 24/96 Hi-Res mix of all existing recording session tapes from January 16 to February 1, 1973, supervised by Alex Mundy, the king of the DGM archive.
