This interesting and attractive copper plate engraved map by Claude Du Bosc is from "The military history of the late Prince Eugene of Savoy, and of the late John duke of Marlborough : : including a particular description of the several battles, sieges, &c. in which either or both those generals commanded."printed by James Bettenham, London, 1736.

The map measures approximately 45 cm x 40 cm or 18" x 16". It is printed on one side only and is perfect for framing.  This is an original antique, nearly 300 years old.

The Military History book that the map comes from is notable as it covers the military careers of two of the most significant generals of their era, particularly during the War of the Spanish Succession (1701-1714), where they famously collaborated in victories such as the Battle of Blenheim (1704), Oudenarde (1708), and Malplaquet (1709).

Prince Eugene of Savoy and John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, were instrumental in shaping European history through their military prowess and strategic partnerships. Their campaigns involved numerous battles and sieges against the forces of Louis XIV of France and the Ottoman Empire.

Claude Du Bosc (c. 1682 – c. 1745 or after 1746) was a French engraver, publisher, and printseller who spent a significant portion of his career in London. He is recognized for his contributions to improving the standard of English printmaking in the early 18th century.
