VW golf mk5 1.9tdi, manual gearbox, 5 door hatchback,metallic blue with full leather interior.

I have used this car daily for the last few years, and is a reliable, economical and practical car. Photos make the car look better than it probably is! Please look closely. It is what it is! 

It is high mileage at 224,000miles, as both I and the previous owners have used it daily for motorway commuting. (Don't expect it to be pristine, due to this!) However it has proved to be a very reliable every day car. I am selling as have bought a newer car to use. 

The good points:

Very economical and reliable.

Strong engine and gearbox.

Comfortable to drive.

Sensible insurance.

Full leather interior in good condition.

All electrics work well.

Practical split fold rear seats.

Regularly serviced.

2 working remote keys.

Good tyres and brakes.

All paperwork including V5C in my name.

The bad points:

The worst point is usual rust in the front wings and sills, the sills will need work for next mot, I have shown this in the last few photos, the paint is also peeling on the front bumper.

The headlining material has sagged, I have put some plastic clips it it just to hold it up out of the way.

Will occasionally go into limp mode if driven hard, this is common on these engines, and if driven sensibly isn't an issue, I drove to London and back last month, it wasn't an issue. If it does fault, switch engine off and restart- this clears the fault.

Flywheel is out of balance, vibration when setting off. Clutch fine-doesnt slip.

The brake pad wear warning light comes on, but this is a wiring fault. The brakes themselves are fine with plenty of life left in them.

Slightly noisy front suspension droplink.

In summary this could either be used for spares or repairs, (the leather interior is worth £200) or used as is until the mot runs out. I have been using the car daily, and given an honest/frank description of the condition.

Ideal for using as a cheap workhorse for the summer.
