Machine stamped Matrix/Stampers:

Side B: SHVL804-B

There is no other stamper information on the run outs and this is correct to this version.

Labels:

Original solid blue triangle Harvest labels. Labels remain especially crisp and clean overall with only minimal spindle wear visible indicating very little play over the years.

Sleeve Notes:

Original very dark blue/black early UK gatefold sleeve complete with the correct “Pink Floyd The Dark Side Of The Moon” front hype sticker positioned to the left side of the front cover.

This sleeve is also the correct early sealed-front panel gatefold variation associated with these early UK issues.

The sleeve displays rich deep colour tones typical of early examples and remains especially attractive overall.

There has been some careful discreet professional-style conservation to areas of surface paper wear along the lower front edge. The sleeve now presents as a strong very good plus example overall with only some light general age wear visible.

Includes the original black poly-lined inner sleeve with “Made In Great Britain” and patent text, which remains in especially nice condition for its age.

For archive storage purposes, the record is currently housed separately within a fresh new black poly-lined inner sleeve.

Also includes both original crack-back stickers along with two original posters.

Description:

Original UK 1973 pressing of The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd released on Harvest Records.

This is a highly desirable early UK solid blue triangle contract pressing variation identifiable by its distinctive pressing profile/ridge characteristics and the absence of standard EMI mother and stamper coding typically found on EMI Hayes manufactured copies.

The vinyl remains in excellent plus to near mint condition overall with extremely clean glossy surfaces and only a few very faint light marks visible under strong light.

Labels remain exceptionally crisp overall with very little spindle wear visible indicating minimal use over the years.

Playback is particularly outstanding throughout with exceptionally clear powerful audio following careful play testing.

Side one was extensively play tested and plays beautifully throughout.

Particular attention was also paid to playback during Money on side two, a track where many early UK pressings are known to mistrack or skip due to know issues with some copies of the solid blue first press. This copy tracks perfectly throughout with no skipping or mistracking present.

The overall audio quality throughout is exceptionally strong and easily among the best early UK Dark Side copies encountered in recent years.

The original gatefold sleeve remains highly attractive overall retaining its original front hype sticker, correct sealed-front panel construction and unusually rich deep early print tones.

Unlike many surviving examples currently on the market, this copy also retains a complete set of original period inserts including both original crack-back stickers, two original posters and the original black poly-lined inner sleeve.

The overall package presents as a highly coherent and exceptionally well preserved early-owner example throughout.

A genuinely premium collector-grade early UK Dark Side Of The Moon pressing.

Carefully cleaned and fully play tested prior to listing.
