Exceedingly scarce and highly collectible original first printing concert poster advertising the Charles Mingus Sextet and the Anita O’Day Trio at the Théâtre Français in Bordeaux [France] on Tuesday, 27th October, 1970. Besides the leader himself, the sextet featured pianist Jaki Byard, drummer Dannie Richmond, alto saxophonist Charles McPherson, and trumpeter Eddie Preston. Anita O’Day was accompanied by pianist Georges Arvanitas, bassist Jacky Samson, and drummer Charles Saudrais. The poster features striking artbork by Christian Morin.
The poster measures 40.0 x 59.8 cm (approx. 15.7″ by 23.5″ inches) and is beautifully printed in magenta and black inks on thin, dull-coated paper stock (coated on front only).
