●DESCRIPTION
1/72 scale plastic model.
The Mitsubishi T-2 is a supersonic trainer of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
The outline of the T-2 is a return seat, twin-engine engine with a Rolls-Royce Chulbomeca Adore Mk801A afterburner from the United Kingdom, and a maximum thrust of 3 310 kg.
The main wing is a clipped delta wing with a high wing type and a valgus angle of 9 degrees so that a large flap area can be taken, and the lateral control has been changed from aileron to spoiler.
The air intake is a fixed lamp type with 6 auxiliary air intakes around it.
The M61A-1 Vulcan cannon is installed as a fixed armament, and the onboard radar is equipped with the domestic J / AWG-11 radar FCS developed by Mitsubishi Electric. Is not installed.
As mentioned above, there were two T-2 trainer aircraft, the early model and the late model.
Students who complete the basic maneuvering course on the T-33A and obtain the wing mark will enter the combat maneuvering basic course at Matsushima Air Base.
Students will learn basic knowledge about supersonic flight and maneuvering with the T-2 early model.
In the next combat maneuvering course, the late T-2 model was equipped with radar and a Vulcan cannon, and learned how to maneuver a fighter, such as shooting. Student pilots who graduated from this were assigned to each combat unit.
The T-2 deployed at Matsushima Air Base in 1975 has been used for student training for nearly 30 years, but in 2004 the successor was handed over to the F-2B and retired from the training flight.
Between 1981 and 1990, the T-2 late model was used by the Tactical Fighter Training (Aggressor).
