I took this answering machine to my technician and he said it should work but just can't guarantee because he doesn't have a special tape to test it.

He ran a tape across the head and said he got sound and also the reels seem to spin forward and reverse.

Has some wear from age. Please see photos for this item exact condition. Power cord also has a slight tear it in but has been repaired with electrical tape.
