Description
Scarce and highly collectible original first printing Deep Purple promotional poster issued by Warner-Pioneer Corporation in Japan in 1972, presumably to promote the release of the Machine Head album as well as their first Japanese tour which took place during August 1972 with concerts at the Festival Hall in Osaka (15th & 16th August) and the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo (17th August). Pioneer established the Warner Bros.-Pioneer Corporation with Warner Bros. Records and Watanabe Productions on 11th November, 1970, and became a new Japanese distributor of Warner Bros. Records releases. In 1972 they changed their name to Warner-Pioneer Corporation. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.
The poster measures 72.5 x 51.4 cm (approx. 28.5″ by 20.2" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. Light sporadic edge wear, else in remarkably near excellent unfolded condition, ready to frame. Please see all supersized images below for the exact condition of the poster.
