Up for bid is a rare fluorescent specimen from the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field in the Hunan Province of China. This specimen features a face of White fluorescing micro crystals of Fluoborite. The Fluoborite was recently identified using XRD. I have included a close up so you can better appreciate the detail of the Fluoborite micro crystals. It looks like there was originally a vein of Fluoborite and when this piece was broken off it split perfectly along the vein. The back of the specimen has a bit of Orange-Yellow fluorescing Wollastonite and some Red Fluorescing Calcite but not enough to bother photographing.

I first saw this material 8 years ago. There were about a half dozen specimens available and I bought most of them. One of these specimens is featured on the cover of my new book on Chinese fluorescent minerals. I did not see a single piece of this material for the next 7 years. I finally tracked down a source in China last year and now have a few specimens for sale. This material comes in a wide range of patterns.

Mindat shows 11 separate mines in the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field. The most well know is Xianghualing Mine (Hsianghualing Mine). I am still trying to find out which specific mine this specimen came from.

Shipping
I use Fed Exp Ground for most of my domestic shipping. I only charge actual shipping costs with no extra charges for packing or shipping materials. I think I finally have combined shipping working on eBay. The automatic invoice from eBay should now have the correct shipping amount. If you see any problems with the shipping amount please let me know.
