Vintage Gabrielle Designs Aunt Lucy Bear 1978

A rare vintage Gabrielle Designs Aunt Lucy Bear, dated 1978 on the original cloth label. This is a wonderfully characterful example, measuring approximately 50 cm tall, with grey plush fur, dark eyes, black nose and pink felt paw pads. She wears a checked dress, white bloomers with lace trim, black felt shoes, a shawl and a black hat with striped trim.

This bear retains the original Gabrielle Designs label and the St Luke’s First XV / Peruvian Reserves tag. The hat is a replacement but with the original band. The right foot pad has been replaced, and there are no coins or coin pocket in the bloomers.

A scarce and highly displayable Aunt Lucy Bear, ideal for collectors of Gabrielle Designs, Paddington and Aunt Lucy bears, British character toys and vintage soft toys.

Condition
Vintage used condition with age-related wear. The plush has light general wear and some age-related movement to the fur. The clothing and accessories are in good displayable condition. The hat is a replacement. One right foot pad has been replaced.  Overall, the bear displays very well and has strong character and presence.
