2004 MG ZS 180 V6 Manual – Royal Blue – Project / Spares or Repair

100,225 miles.

Owned for several years but now been sitting off the road since approximately 2023 due to lack of time to recommission it properly.

The car starts and runs, however after a few minutes it begins revving itself to around 3k rpm. Suspect stale fuel/fuelling issue from standing but this has not been investigated further. Could just be idle control valve etc.

One rear brake is currently seized/binding from sitting, so the vehicle is not roadworthy and will require trailer transport.

Good points:

- Genuine MG ZS 180 V6 manual

- Royal Blue

- 2x original keys and original working fobs

- Extensive invoices/garage receipts

- CJL Tuning remap (approx 190-200bhp)

- VIS motors professionally repaired by Byron at DragonHIF Wales (well known within the MG Rover community)

- Sheddist clutch kit fitted

- Sachs clutch fitted at approximately 75k miles

- Cambelts previously replaced at approximately 80k miles (will now require doing again due to age)

- Rear control arms fitted with Powerflex bushes

- Brand new old stock headlights fitted in 2023

- Headliner previously replaced so is not sagging

- Interior generally tidy and complete

- Engine starts and runs

Bad points:

- Has been standing for several years

- Rear brake seized/binding

- Revving/idle issue once warm

- Rust underneath as pictured including sill/floor areas

- Passenger sill has had previous welding work

- Headliner has mould from sitting and will require cleaning/replacement

- Non-roadworthy

- Will require recommissioning and potentially welding work before MOT

Overall still a solid looking and increasingly rare ZS 180 that would make a worthwhile project for an MG Rover enthusiast or useful spares donor.
