Vintage mid-century German cutwork decorative pillowcase would have been used like a sham or possibly on a couch, and is made of either linen or cotton - not sure which, but it does need ironing after washing.  The size is about 21" x 15," and is not really a bed pillow size.  A solid color pillow would be placed inside a partially open back seam, and the color of that pillow would show through the cutwork.  Very pretty design, fabric has aged from white to a slightly yellow off-white.  Please note this listing is only for the pillowcase - I do not have a pillow to put inside.
