For your consideration is one scarce UNUSED vintage 1960s vinyl inflatable Dakkochan Doll IN ORIGINAL PACKAGE.  Picture of the doll inflated is just an example

At over fifty years old, the doll is in UNUSED great condition.  packaging shows age and has some slits in the thin plastic and cardboard shows wear but intact.

The dolls were mostly produced in black, and to a much less degree, other colors.

Originating in Japan in the 1960s, the Dakkochan dolls took the youth by storm.  They were worn on the arm as an accessory.  Below is an archived


In a Time Magazine Article from 1960 highlighting the fascinating history of this toy, it was steeped in political and racial/cultural controversy, which ultimately lead to the toy being cancelled/discontinued in the 1980s. 


President Richard Nixon's campaign began using them to market his presidency, with the famous slogan, "Nixon Now" on the back of its head.
