You are looking at a

1970s ROGERS 6 piece BIG Boy DRUM Set -

Color is New Mahogany.

That is New Mahogany formica wrap over real wooden shells.

Sizes are 14x24, 14x24, 9x13, 10x14, 16x16, 18x20

Yes a real rare floor tom with a 20 inch head, 18 inches deep.

This is how I got the set, with the heads that came on it.

The EVANS tom heads are all in pretty good condition, and match.

One 14x24 Bass drum has no mounts on top, ever.

The other 14x24 bass drum has a Knobby cymbal L arm mount where the badge was.

The 18x20 floor has four legs and leg mounts.

These are 5 ply maple shells from the early 1970s.

All the chrome has some pimples or blister spots. Both of the the two bass drums have extra holes at the spur mounts from some previous spur mounts, why I don't know. The 18x20 floor tom has a wavy spot or two in the bearing edge, poorly cut at the factory. That drum also has some double drilled holes for the lugs, in order to fit the rims. Another original factory boo boo. All rubber leg tips are missing. Two bass drum spurs have weld spots to prevent them from going in the drum when set up. I should call it for parts or not working, though they can be played as is. The 16x16 floor tom is missing the tone control. And it is missing it's paper label serial number. One bass drum is also missing it's paper label serial number.

Each drum is described below.

spkFlBv, means each has speckled grey paint inside, from Fullerton, CA and has beavertail lugs.

..... good clean chrome, only one hex mount for "L" cymbal arm top dead center.

..... It is where the missing script badge would be, and was probably done after market.

..... some scratches, nicks or scrapes, wrap color is good.

..... both hoops and tension rods and legs are originals.

..... 16 tension rods are originals with four key bolts on the bottom clamps.

..... Hoops need some paint touch up.

..... Spurs may be aftermarket, but fit and work fine, rubber tips are missing.

..... there are enlarged holes at the spur mounts, maybe from some previous mounts.

..... 16 tension "T" rods are originals with four key bolts on the bottom clamps.

..... Black EVANS EMAD ported front resonant head.

..... and EVANS Level 360 clear batter head with sound rings.

..... good clean chrome lugs, this was a virgin with no mounts on top,

..... but, there are extra holes at the spur mounts from some previous mounts.

..... some scratches, nicks or scrapes, wrap color is good.

..... one original hoop has a crack,

..... the other hoop I used is a good Rogers hoop with silver foil inlay.

..... the 2nd original hoop is broken with plies apart and bent, I offer it or the inlay with this drum. Not shown.

..... 16 tension rods are originals with four key bolts on the bottom clamps.

..... the original spurs have weld spots to prevent them from falling in the shell.

..... the front original head has a large hole cut in the middle.

..... the batter head is a Remo pinstripe, with a small hole in one spot.

I can provide another white front head with a hole,

or another black front head with a hole for the bass drums

if you want a closer match.

You can have all six heads, no extra payment for the two extra heads.

..... wrap has two seams, both are lifting.

..... has scratches, nicks and scrapes, wrap color is good.

..... white pad tone control is present and working good.

..... four original hex legs, with four hex Knobby mounts.

..... both rims and tension rods and the 4 legs are original, rubber tips are missing.

..... top bearing edge has a low spot or two, a factory boo boo.

..... a couple lug hole spots were re-drilled at the factory to fit the rim, another factory boo boo.

..... EVANS G12 Level 360 white top head.

16x16 9/72 Rogers new mahogany ... spkFlBv - label, Bxxxxx

..... tone control is missing and the inside label is missing, too.

..... clean chrome, pimples in the rims and lugs, wrap seam lifting.

..... wrap has scratches, nicks and scrapes, wrap color is good.

..... both rims and tension rods and legs are originals, rubber tips are missing.

..... the leg mount key bolts still work, but are worn and rusty.

..... white pad tone control has a rare Fender knob, which IS factory.

This set is in fair condition with issues,

but is big and impressive, and came together.

I traded it to a local drummer 30 years ago,

Now I have it back. .

The tom rims are all original Rogers rims, and the tension rods are, too.

Most of the tension rods have original washers.

The Rogers 2 tom floor stand shown is included.

No snare or snare stand is included.

The insides of the drums are speckled grey paint, and are clean.

The year is probably the early mid 1970s.

1972-1975 give or take a year.

About 50 years old.

Photos show flaws, and are part of the description.

The drums are ready to go, and you can start enjoying them.

If you can use these, don’t miss out.

I don't have another set like this.

You are getting the six drums,

with the bass drum legs and floor tom legs.

and the two tom floor stand.

My reason for selling?

I like and play small drums.

And I have begun downsizing what I have.

Local pickup, by appointment only, is a great option.

We are between Saratoga, NY to the west and Lake George NY to the north west, and very close to Vermont, only one town away. And 200 miles north of New York City. I-87 is about 15 miles from me. Exit 15, 16, or 17 are close.

This one would need to be packed by someone else, they are too large for the post office, which is my first choice, as they are the closest shipper to me.
