Panerai knows how to honor their roots with a cool limited edition. And that’s exactly what they did with the ref 662, just 1000 made as a nod to the famous ref 6154 originally commissioned by the Egyptian Navy in 1954. They even went with a tobacco gray/brown dial as a shout out to what happened to the 6154’s dials when they met all that radium lume. Great full set here, from 2018, down to the limited edition paperwork scroll!

DIAL: Sometimes it looks light brown, sometimes light gray, really gorgeous, of course with the classic Panerai 12-3-6-9 numerals and layout of the original 6154 with the simple Radiomir Panerai font. Also love the bronzed hands. Super clean condition throughout.

CRYSTAL: Another nod to the OG, they went with a doomed plexi crystal, which looks fantastic just some light wear seen up close.

CASE: 47MM stainless case with the original Radiomir fat lugs and oversized crown. Has wear throughout, given the large polished surfaces, but minimal and still looks great. Wears surprisingly well given the numbers, helped by the short lug to lug. Not a small watch but fits well on even mid sized wrists, photographed on my 6.6 incher.

MOVEMENT: Hand wound in-house cal P.3000 movement is winding and setting like butter and keeping great time.

STRAP: On its original dark brown distressed leather Panerai strap, in good condition complete with original stainless Panerai pin buckle.

ACCESSORIES: Really cool collector set - oversized wooden Panerai box, with all the booklets and dated paperwork and serialized stickers, box key, and the numbered limited edition paperwork scroll.
