A nice fully functional example of the classic Sansui 5000 receiver. I have replaced all the electrolytic capacitors in this receiver with high quality parts. The F-1040 driver boards have been upgraded with some new upgraded transistors and a modification (called a Skippy mod) for better stability. Output transistors are original. I replaced some transistors in the IF section many years ago. Amplifier bias has been adjusted. All controls have been cleaned with DeOxit. New dial and face plate incandescent bulbs. AM and FM work well as do all inputs.
The face plate metal and plastic is in very nice condition however the text around the selector knob is slightly bled and discolored . The case has some minor imperfections. The aluminium plate on the back is a bit damaged.
