This pastel still life by the celebrated American Modernist WPA painter and printmaker Ernest Fiene (1879-1956) is from a series of floral works the artist created in 1928 which culminated in his color lithograph "White Roses". Measuring 13 1/2" x 10 1/2" image, 24" x 20" framed it is signed lower left. It is in excellent condition with no holes, tears, stains or fading and framed in archival materials. Examples of his pastels can be found in the collections of a number of museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Smithsonian Institution of Art.
