Lot of 4, Atlas #200 All Scales Snap-Relay,
Used, Tested good, w/ Instructions
The Atlas #200 Snap-Relay is a compact, twin‑coil–actuated double‑pole, double‑throw (DPDT) electrical relay designed for model railroad control systems. It’s widely used in HO and N scale layouts to automate power routing, turnout indication, signal lights and accessory control.
A DPDT relay driven by a momentary‑power twin‑coil solenoid. When triggered (usually by the same switch machine that throws a turnout), it flips its internal contacts to route power or signals to different circuits. It mounts anywhere under the layout.
Each relay can perform several useful control tasks:
· Power frog control — Energizes turnout frogs to eliminate dead spots and prevent stalling of short‑wheelbase locomotives.
· Turnout position indication — Drives trackside signal lamps or control‑panel LEDs to show which way a turnout is set.
· Selective siding power — Automatically powers a siding only when the turnout is aligned for it; keeps it dead when aligned
for the mainline.
· X‑section control — Helps manage isolated electrical blocks or reverse sections.
· Uses a twin‑coil solenoid similar to Atlas Snap‑Switch machines.
· A brief pulse flips the relay to one of two stable positions.
· Each position changes both poles of the DPDT switch, allowing you to route two separate circuits simultaneously.
This makes it ideal for coordinating turnout movement with electrical changes elsewhere on the layout.
