Here's your chance to own a piece of American history, with a rare dress from the N.R.A. label, only produced from 1933-1935...

This mid-1930's dress comes in a warm cocoa reddish-brown color and consists of two fabrics; a matte satin weave with brass metallic thread embroideries in the shape of leaves, used at cuffs and neckline, and, a crepe weave with subtle micro geo print, at main body. This dress definitely draws inspiration from the (then) past, with an Edwardian tinge to the details. The bodice of this dress features a ruffled neckline, double peaked waist seam, ruffle pleated cuffs, and self-fabric bow detail at back neck. There are tiny metal snaps ate side seams, cuffs, and hook + eye at back neckline for closures. The skirt features double tiers, and satin-covered decorative button detail. My favorite detail, though? The self-fabric sash belt with brassy-gold metal chainmail detail -these have two little hooks that attach to the center front waist area. Label reads 'N.R.A. (National Recovery Act), "We do our part", made under dress code authority'. Overall condition is good, with some obvious to mild issues; obvious stains at underarm areas (mostly at front, not back), mild stains to fabric at front waist area (hidden under belt), moderate stains throughout, including center back area, small repairs to holes in fabric throughout, some missing metal thread and repaired/backed holes at front chest/neckline area, mild wear to fabric at cuff edges -please review photographs for details. This dress was stain treated, underarm treated (via several methods) and washed a few times. I've done my absolute best to bring it back to life as well as possible! I have not conducted a fiber burn test on these fabrics yet, as I feel fairly confident that both are silks.
