Fender HAMA OKAMOTO Precision Bass #4 3 Color Sunburst Made in Japan [3.86kg] [S/N JD25020263]
Fender's Hama Okamoto PB has been renewed!
Hama Okamoto is one of the most influential bassists active in the contemporary Japanese music scene. Born in 1991, he formed Zuttozureteru's in 2008. Since 2009, as a member of OKAMOTO'S, he has been actively involved in album production and overseas tours, achieving great success at numerous festivals and live events.
His playing style, said to be self-taught, is characterized by an exquisite sense of timing and expressive phrasing that is exceptionally skillful for a Japanese musician. His talent was quickly recognized, and in 2013, he signed an endorsement contract with Fender. Following the long-awaited release of his signature model at the end of 2015, it has now been re-released with new Made-in-Japan specifications.
Recent Japanese-made Fender basses, such as the MIJ Traditional Series and MIJ Hybrid Series, have undergone significant updates to their manufacturing processes under the technical guidance and supervision of master builders like Chris Fleming, who served as a Senior Master Builder at the Custom Shop.
This instrument is modeled after the 1968 Fender Precision Bass that Hama Okamoto uses as his main instrument. Based on the theme of "an easy-to-play Precision Bass that you wouldn't expect to find," it features a slim Jazz Bass-style neck. It boasts a distinctive finish with vintage-style round paddle tuners and bridge cover, a brightly colored basswood body, and a pickguard with the so-called "red tortoiseshell" pattern.
