Vintage Lab Series L9 312A Guitar Amplifier – 100W – Upgraded Electro-Voice EVM-15L Speaker – Moog Designed – Rolling Combo
This is a vintage Lab Series L9 Model 312A guitar amplifier, one of the flagship models from the late 1970s - 1980s Lab Series lineup. These amps were produced by Gibson during the Norlin era and are well-known for their clean power, advanced tone shaping, and rugged build quality.
This particular unit is equipped with the highly desirable Electro-Voice EVM-15L 15” speaker (OEM) – a premium, heavy-duty speaker known for incredible clarity, efficiency, and volume. This speaker is an upgrade from the standard Lab Series speaker. The magnet on this speaker is 16 lbs by itself.
The Lab Series amps were designed with input from engineers associated with Moog, making them some of the most sophisticated solid-state guitar amps of the 1970s. They are known for extremely clean headroom and versatile tone shaping
The EVM-15L speaker alone is highly sought after, often selling separately for hundreds of dollars, and delivers exceptional projection and durability
These amps were also famously used by blues legend B.B. King, adding to their reputation among players and collectors
The Amp is large and quite heavy (70 lbs). Shipping through UPS or Fedex is doable (the weight of the Amp and box, packing material would be above the USPS weight limit), but would be a bit expensive.
