Following the success of our GBA shell, we spent another eight months developing the perfect Game Boy Original shell — investing over £10,000 in new moulds, even with the process running more efficiently than our first GBA endeavour.

This shell is produced using premium ABS sourced from Japan, unlike the cheap injection-moulded plastics used in every other shell on the market.

The fit, feel, and tolerances of the RetroSix ABS shell surpass the original. The buttons are stronger with newer ABS and more precise moulds, the triggers are ultra-responsive, and the plastic is far more durable — completely free of the defects that are commonplace in injection-moulded alternatives.

IPS screens drop in without any modification whatsoever.

The battery compartment is also designed to accept the CleanJuice XL as a direct fit with no cutting required, and includes both a USB-C cover and a standard cover as standard.
