Mid century 60s original ink drawing from well listed NYC artist Jack Paul Maroon (1919-2008). Maroon, a gay man, spent much of his life painting in NYC. He was well exhibited and part of the expressionism/modernism movement in NYC from the 40s thru the 60s.

We were fortunate enough to purchase the artists entire archive and several paintings and a select few we be sold here. The archive will be sold separately in its entirety to a museum or institution.
This drawing dates from c1960s and was done while the artist was studying in Japan. Depicts an eye catching scene of a Japanese Geisha woman and child in traditional Japanese kimonos. The drawing is rich with life and boasts great capture of emotion. Well done with nice detail, use of color and pleasing lines. Medium is ink/ marker on paper done in a Modernist minimalist style. Signed at the base.
In Excellent condition. Bold and crisp. No dings, dents, holes, rips or tears. Gentle signs of handling. Matted in a rigid paper board mat and ready to frame.
Measures 16 3/4” x 13 3/4” with the mat.
