Material: 100% natural sisal fibre
Construction: 3-strand, traditional lay
Colour: Natural light straw (may vary slightly by batch)
Finish: Untreated (no dyes or chemical coatings)
Tolerances: Natural fibre diameter can vary (typically ±8%); length cut within normal trade allowances
Sisal is a natural fibre: it can swell or shrink with moisture and will naturally darken outdoors.
Store dry and out of direct sunlight when not in use.
The rope has a natural plant smell that many pets love; this fades over time.
Not for climbing, overhead lifting, life-safety or critical loads. Always allow a generous safety factor for any load-bearing use.
Natural fibres cannot be heat-sealed. For neat, long-lasting ends:
Wrap the cut point tightly with tape before cutting.
After cutting, apply a whipping (string/twine) or a small amount of wood glue/PVA to lock the fibres.
For decorative runs, consider end caps or eye splices (if you have rope-work skills).

Orders are packed carefully to prevent kinks and damage.
Is this sisal rope safe for cats?
Yes — it’s untreated natural sisal, widely used for cat scratching posts.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. Sisal handles outdoor use well but will age and darken with sun and rain. Allow for slight movement in length/diameter with changing weather.
Will I get a continuous length?
Yes — each selection is supplied as one continuous piece. If you need multiple pieces or a custom cut, message us before ordering.
Which diameter should I pick for a scratching post?
Most standard posts use 10–12mm. Choose 6–8mm for smaller posts or 14mm+ for heavy-duty/large posts.
Does it shed?
Like all natural fibre ropes, sisal can shed lightly during installation and early use. This is normal and settles down.
How rough is the texture?
Sisal is firm and grippy (rougher than cotton or polypropylene). If used as a handrail wrap, consider a protective finish/glove during fitting.
Any safety notes?
This product is not designed for climbing, lifting people, overhead lifting, or life-safety applications. Use common-sense safety margins for any load.
