Very sturdy. I do not recommend letting your little one climb on this, but I caught my little one doing so a couple times with no ill effects to the race track or the child; the race track didn’t even tip over. I only mention bc I was impressed at how strong and stable it was, but again, this is not a toy intended for climbing.

Assembly is just screwing in a few Phillips head screws and then snapping everything else into place. Note that one screw is missing. I recommend leaving it out of the center screw hole for the very top blue piece as there are still two other screws to secure that blue piece in place.
