This has been in my inventory since purchased in 2021.  It was listed as an original 1860 cavalry scabbard.  My scabbards were 1840 and this did not fit. I have sold my other scabbards and now offer this for sale.  I believe this to be an original but listing as a reproduction to avoid any misrepresentation. 

Throat size is external measurements;  1-3/4" x 1" x 1-1/8" length, add the wing tabs for an overall length of 2-3/8"
The interior opening can take a sword of 1/2" x 1-3/16". 

Please review the photos to determine its application to your scabbard and condition. This scabbard throat design has tabs on side that under compression slide into the scabbard.
