Vintage Federal Products “Testmaster” dial test indicator set in original fitted wooden case. Precision machinist inspection tool used for checking runout, alignment, and setup on lathes, mills, and surface plate work.

This is an earlier mid-century example (circa 1940s–1960s) from Federal Products Corp. of Providence, Rhode Island. The set features a jeweled movement reading in tenths (.0001”) for fine measurement and toolroom inspection.

Indicator movement is smooth, responds properly, and returns to zero when the contact tip is pressed and released.

Name “T. Arnold” is written inside the lid, typical of shop-issued machinist inspection tools from the period.

CONDITION

Working vintage condition.

Indicator moves freely and returns to zero when the contact tip is pressed and released. Dial face is clean and easy to read. Metal components show light wear and minor oxidation consistent with age and shop use. Wooden case shows finish wear, staining, and handling marks from age. No major damage observed.

Calibration has not been certified; sold as a functional vintage precision tool.
