This ceramic pot by White Swann showcases traditional Native American artistry with intricate pattern. Also known as Dolly Joe Navasie, a Hopi potter of the Water Clan, born 1964. She is the daughter of Eunice Navasie and sister to Dawn Navasie, known potters as well. She grew up on the Hopi reservation area of Antelope Mesa near Keams Canyon. She began creating pots at the age of 6 and was a skilled potter by age 17. She participated in markets at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona and in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
