Domitian, AR denarius, Rome mint, 79 AD. Obv: CAESAR AVG DOMITIANVS COS VI. Laureate head of Domitian right. Rev: PRINCEPS IVVENTVTIS. Clasped hands holding legionary eagle set on prow. Reference: RIC II 246. 19mm, 2.44 grams. Description: Some corrosion on both obverse and reverse but the legends and theme are legible and easy to make out. This piece has hints of blue, purple and small, almost magenta spots with an overall steely gray tone.
