This is a rare Lavender colored version of the Kodak "Petite" "Step Pattern" compact folding Vest Pocket with deluxe "Art Deco" styling and Step Pattern enameled metal front with original bellows.
Made in Rochester, NY by Eastman Kodak Company. Circa 1930. Uses 127 size film, and produces 4.5x6cm negatives. Scarce colored versions of the compact Vest Pocket Kodak cameras with colored Art Deco designs.
The Kodak Petite "Step Pattern" camera was manufactured in circa 1929 to 1933. This is the same as the Petite camera but designed with a unique art-deco enameled pattern on the front of the camera bed. It was available in various colors and was sold with an accompanying case that matched the diamond fabric covering on the back of the camera. The Petite was equipped with the Vest Pocket Rotary shutter and simple meniscus lens. It took standard vest pocket sized pictures, 1 5/8 by 2 1/2 inches, with no. 127 auto-graphic roll film
Folding mechanism functions perfectly and slides easily on its rails. Shutter is in perfect working condition both Instant and Time.
