Vtg Japanese Ceramic Sesame Mortar Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic mortar for spices and sesame (Suribachi). Fine grooves are carved into the bowl at different angles to facilitate the grinding of materials and has a spout for mess-free pouring. This is a typical ceramic mortar commonly used in Japan. This mortar is perfect for grinding and milling spices and herbs to preserve their flavor and freshness.
