New Replacement Object ROM Board for Space Harrier and Enduro Racer PCB Game Sets

This is a Buy-It-Now sale for a new replacement Object ROM board, suitable for Sega Space Harrier and Enduro Racer PCB Sets.

A new PCB board with precisely the same dimensions and spacing as the original, fitted with 4 low power FLASH ROMs to replace the original 32 BiPolar ROMs fitted on the original board. This will allow your game board stack to run a LOT cooler, and draw less power from the PSU, therefore generating less heat in the wiring and power connector. Being built with all new parts, it is also going to be a lot more reliable, and may fix graphics glitches in the object section, if the problem has been tracked down to a fault on the original ROM board.

The board is compatible with both Space Harrier and Enduro Racer, and the game can be selected using an on board jumper. If you have built yourself a switchable game board set, this ROM board can automatically switch between the two games. This function is detailed in the accompanying leaflet supplied with the board.

NOTE - This board DOES NOT automatically convert an Enduro Racer set to Space Harrier or vice versa. It is simply compatible with either version of the game.

One other thing to note is the power connector. The original 10 way AMP connector is no longer available, so these boards come fitted with a right angle header that does not have any latching pins. The connector on your loom should stay retained in place by the friction of the pins. Also be careful of the orientation of the connector when fitting. It fits the same way round as the original, with the two little plastic "prongs" on the connector facing down, and touching the PCB. I have included a photo in the listing, showing the correct way round this connector goes.

Please see the photos above, and note that only the PCB fully assembled with FLASH ROMs and other ICs fitted as per the first photo is included in this listing. The other photos show it connected to an example Space Harrier and Enduro Racer PCB Set, and are not included. The two photos showing the board assembled with the sound board are the previous iteration of this board, that uses PLCC FLASH chips. The version on sale here uses DIP type FLASH, as per the rest of the photos.

NOTE to eBay - This board contains no game code, and cannot run any game on its own. It is solely for the purpose of repairing or replacing a faulty object ROM board that is already present in an existing game, which still needs the remaining three boards to run the game correctly.
