A superb old French cello bow made by C.N. Bazin ca.1890. This is an extraordinary, wonderful example in all original condition (still retaining an original winding and leather grip). The stick is is dark red-brown pernambuco of superior selection and figuration, octagonal: the frog end button are ebony with silver mountings. This is a 1st class playing bow, strong, excellent sounding and handling example suitable for a finest cellist. The length of the stick is 69.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 78 g (with very light tinsel winding). The bow is certified by Pierre Guillaume.
