Set of 2 front door panels removed from a Volkswagen New Beetle 2007 - ELECTRIC WINDOWS.
*** They fit NORMAL HARDTOP MODELS only, THEY DO NOT FIT A CONVERTIBLE. ***
COLOR:
- Main panels: BLACK
- Arm rest: BLACK SYNTHETIC LEATHER
- Top: SALSA RED - COLOR CODE LA3H
*** The center inserts were re-glued from the inside with windshield urethane. The fix is more than very solid, and since it was done on the inside, it's not visible when the panel is installed. ***
*** All cracks in the plastic are fixed with Permatex Plastic Welder epoxy. It's a specialized epoxy made specially for welding plastic. The area that is fixed is always cleaned and roughed up with a Dremel tool, epoxy applied, and excess sanded off with another Dremel tool. I have used this product for close to 10 years now, and always had good results. The fix made is permanent, and if not put under stress, will not break. ***
Please make sure that your door hinges are in good shape, and that they are not rusted or seized to not put additional stress on the door panel's handles.
They're in fair shape, but please be advised that they're 20+ year old panels. They're in overall good condition, but please be aware that they are VERY FAR FROM BEING NEW !
Condition - detailed description of each panel:
Left front :
Overall the panel is in good shape. There are some traces from everyday use on it which is normal for any daily used 20+ year old part. It can be dusty, but overall it looks good when installed.
- All switches are there, none are damaged.
- Top painted part is OK but does have some light scuffs here and there.
- The door handle frame was cracked on the top section, it has been repaired inside and outside. However, that area needs to be reinforced. You absolutely need to install a bracket to reinforce the door handle on the metal door. If the bracket is not installed, I do not guarantee that this area won't break.
- The 2 mounting holes on the door handle frame are fine
- There were some stress hairline stress cracks here and there (over the handle etc) but everything has been fixed.
- You will need to install the BeetleBrace bracket in the door handle if you do not want the panels to break. The door handle needs to be reinforced. The panels are brittle by design, and will surely break in the future if the bracket is not used. You can search online for "BeetleBrace bracket" and it will bring you to the needed website. If you have any questions about this, please ask.
Right front:
Overall the panel is in good shape. There are some traces from everyday use on it which is normal for any daily used 20+ year old part.
- It had pretty much the same treatment as the driver's side. All cracks fixed, center insert re-glued.
- Door handle's frame is solid.
- Some minimal scratches and dents on the top painted section.
- Had 2 cracks in the side section, both have been fixed. Same for some hairline cracks over and under the handle.
- Installing the Beetle Brace bracket in the door handle is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you do not want the panels to break. I do not guarantee that they won't break around the door handle area if the bracket is not installed.
*** Please be advised that the listing is for the panels, the accessories on them such as window switches, handles, mirror switches, even if they do come with them and were in good working condition when removed, are not warrantied.
All in all, they're in fair and usable condition for the year.
