Original WW2 British RAF Royal Air Force Irvin Flying Jacket Sheepskin Collar

Genuine period collar removed from a Irvin sheepskin flying jacket as used by Royal Air Force pilots are aircrew during the Second World War.

The collar was removed from an early-mid war period Irvin flying jacket which was falling apart as the seams and beyond repair. It is now being sold as spares for restoration projects. The jacket featured two leather panels to the front and rear dating to an early to mid war period, with later jackets featuring a higher number of panels. Other components from this jacket are avaliable in my other items.

The collar is in overall good original condition and the leather is still supple with a nice aged patina. The vertical seam has unsewn slightly and the lower section seam is open and ready to be fitted to a jacket in need of a replacement collar. The collar is made from geuine sheepskin and leather and all components are genuine WW2 period. Features: leather securing strap, metal ring fastener to secure the strap and two metal eyelets to the rear to secure the elasticated rear strap which, is often the case, is not present.

The measurements of the collar are:

Length - 22 inches
Width - 6.5 inches

Here is a rare opportunity to buy genuine Irvin flying jacket spare parts which hardly ever come on the market.
