This is a rare and beautifully crafted antique Hendryx bird cage from the 1920s, made in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. This is a great find and a unique collectible gift. It features:
- Original brass mesh cage with square shape and 3 working doors - IT DOES HAVE A HOLE IN THE MESH
- Two plastic seed cups that fit onto the slats in the metal (I don't know if they are original with the cage or not)
- Stamped Hendryx nameplate with “Made in USA Reg U.S. Patent Off., New Haven, Conn”
- Top hanging circle but no chain attached
- Bottom pan has rust
- Comes with several wooden perches, including one new one (although it seems soft - I would not use it for a real bird)
- The bottom of the cage has HENDRYX on it
This cage is a stunning example of early 20th-century craftsmanship and would make a perfect decorative piece or collectible. It is sold as-is. Please review photos for condition details. This is a small cage and is better as a decoration than to house a real live bird.
It is approximately 16" tall and 14" wide.
