Three days before the tickets first went on sale on November 12^th 2011, the production company announced a special, limited edition, giveaway for the first 100 people in line. The first ten people got Porgy and Bess picnic baskets and the next 90 got Porgy and Bess messenger bags. Only 90 of these bags were made. I can’t find a listing for another one on the internet (or for any other Porgy and Bess merch except cds and playbills).

 

Nice heavy canvas, velcro strap through a metal loop on the front, large pocket on the back that is closed with a metal snap, zippered phone holder inside the main bag, woven black strap, “Summertime… and the living is easy” & “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess” are silk screened on the front.

 

I got this about 13 years ago with a big box of Broadway promotional items (Newsies, Shrek the Musical, The Addams Family, Billy Elliot, and a few others) because I wanted The Addams Family item. And I just found it again in a box in the attic where it’s been stored all of these years.

I have a full time job and, at most, I only get to the post office once a week. So other sellers will probably be much faster shippers than I will. But your package will be very well packed and will arrive undamaged (unless the post office releases the gorilla on it).
