SENAO SL-2511CD PLUS EXT2 (EXTERNAL ANTENNA - INCLUDED)
The card is physically labelled WL-0011MP+ on the rear, which was the same hardware as the above device, but this SKU sold by Solwise included an antenna. This card uses an Intersil Prism2 chipset which has been upgraded to primary firmware 1.1.1 and station firmware 1.7.4. This update allows it to support WPA and WPA2 encryption despite its older 802.11b radio.
This card has a much higher power radio than typical - 200mW with higher sensitivity. These cards were often selected for wardriving. The longer range radio, together with the included external antenna will mean this card will link to networks with weaker signals than a PC Card with an integrated antenna.
With this firmware the card works with the Amiga prism2v2 driver from Aminet, which also supports WPA and WPA2. It would be particularly suitable for an Amiga in a tower case, since the antenna is external.
The last photo shows it connected to my own BT SmartHub's WPA2 secured network (CCMP), using the free AmiTCP 3.0b2. The SmartHub is left on default settings - I didn't have to alter it at all. The current prism2v2 driver works fine on Amiga 600 and Amiga 1200. My Amiga 600 pictured has a stock 68000 CPU.
There is a Windows driver for Prism2 limited to WPA support, but the Linux hostap_cs driver will also support WPA2. Beyond Amiga systems, this card could also be useful for vintage PC laptops with 16bit PCMCIA slots.
