An antique large mid 19th century Running Horse weathervane with incredible patina, converted into a freestanding sculpture mounted on weathered wood base. The horse has copper body, zinc head with highly detailed teeth, ears and eyes. Paint is chipped but stable. Incredible verdigris and old paint patina. Untouched, not cleaned, as found. Wonderful example of early American craftsmanship. From Massachusetts.
Overall length of horse is 26 inches long by 15.5 inches tall, with wood base 17 inches tall.
