Listed here is a USED Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 1 Bell Housing. This is a Genuine OEM Mercruiser part NOT a cheap Chinese aftermarket replacement. Has some pitting/staining/wear from normal operation. Part is fully functional. In the pictures I have shown that the nuts thread properly/fully on the bell housing studs as well as took as many pics as i could of the hinge pin threads to show they are in good condition. The 6 nuts (part number 11-869116) are also included but I am not guaranteeing the operation of them since they are old and should be replaced via the service manual as well as 5 washers part # 12-35935. DOES NOT COME WITH SHIFT SHAFT SEAL. This will need to be replaced before installation. The part number for the seal kit is 23-805041A2 or 23-805041A 2 on MOST models and lists for $62.83 new. One can be provided for extra charge if you are interested. Also shows in pictures a lower shift cable fully inserted into threads so you know they are good. Lower shift cable DOES NOT come with the bell housing and is only in pictures to show the threads are good. One can be provided at extra cost if requested. The part number for this bell housing is 42815A6 or 42815A 6 and lists for $980.50 new from the dealer. The number 94994-s is cast into the part but I think its a batch number. This is the part that connects to the gimbal ring on the transom assembly and the gear case. This model is the Alpha I Gen I and was used from the early 1980s to about 1990 (depending on where you boat was on the assembly line). Was used for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engine configurations. THIS BELL HOUSING WILL NOT WORK ON THE ALPHA I GEN II. This bell housing came from a 1989 transom assembly that was used on a boat on a fresh water Orlando lake and has never seen salt water. The bell housing you see listed is the actual bell housing you will receive with nothing extra.
